Yes, I want to partner with AFSP

Help us  save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide.

A Bold Goal

We are dedicated to reducing the annual suicide rate in the United States 20 percent by the year 2025.

A Health Crisis

Nationwide, suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for ages 10-44

In Illinois, suicide is the #1 leading cause of death for ages 10-14

Every 11.9 minutes an American dies by suicide

In Illinois, nearly twice as many people die by suicide annually than by homicide

Most suicide attempt survivors go on to engage in life

96% of people believe suicide is preventable

Offer support to those affected by suicide

Provide a significant and powerful voice in mental health and suicide prevention advocacy efforts

Create and implement educational programs

Research into the causes and treatments of mental health to enable suicide prevention initiatives

But we can’t do it without you.

Yes, I want to partner with AFSP

Be the voice by helping AFSP break the silence through supporting the
Out of the Darkness Chicagoland Walk.

By supporting the Chicagoland Walk, you are demonstrating to your employees and community that you support mental health and are dedicated to helping save lives.

Please help us continue this conversation and spread hope to those struggling with mental health illness and survivors of suicide loss.

The walk focuses on increasing awareness about suicide prevention and raising funds to support research, advocacy and education.

The core of the Out of the Darkness Walks, the Community Walks, created a movement. Held in over 400 communities across the country and involving more than 250,000 walkers, they give people the courage to open up about their own struggle or loss and the platform to change our culture’s approach to mental health.
